 Born and raised in Ohio, in 1999, Katt Williams moved to Los Angeles, and within a year and a half, became a respected presence in the local comedy clubs. Performing at places like the Laugh Factory, The Improv, The Comedy Store and The Icehouse, allowed him to host his own comedy room at the Hollywood Park Casino.. HBO recently aired “Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt.1,” 60 minutes of new material from the comedian taped live in Atlanta with guest appearances from Cam’ron, Lil’ Jon, Snoop Dogg, Andre 3000, Da Brat and Anthony Anderson, among others. For the show, Williams was able to draw on his own experiences and his edgy take on life to regale the crowd with his unique personality, pimp-esque charisma and supply of original jokes. The show is currently the highest-rated special on the HBO Network for 2006. A of the special DVD will be distributed by Universal Home Video. Katt Williams has become somewhat of a staple comedic force on the BET Network, appearing on shows such as “Comic View,” “Rip the Runway,” “Black Carpet,” “Rap City,” “106th & Park,” “The BET Awards” and “BET Comedy Awards.” Recently, Katt Williams hosted the First Annual BET Hip Hop Award Show from the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Ga., receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and speaking directly to hip-hop audiences globally, sharing his insight on urban culture, folklore, lifestyle, history and music, as he introduced such performers as Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Young Jeezy and T.I. as well as Award Nominees Common, Busta Rhymes, DMX and Jay-Z. In October of 2001, Williams landed his first feature film as the character Money Mike in “Friday After Next.” Since then, Williams has appeared in a variety of television shows, including “The Tracy Morgan Show,” “My Wife and Kids,” “NYPD Blue,” “Cuts,” “Girlfriends,” “Wanted,” MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out” with Nick Cannon and Russell Simmons’ HBO “Def Comedy Jam” alongside Dave Chappelle and Mike Epps. Williams also voices an animated character, A Pimp Named Slickback, on the popular adult cartoon “The Boondocks.” The comedian will co-star in MTV’s new half-hour improv series “Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz.” Katt Williams has appeared in music videos for artists such as Outkast (“Roses), Ludacris (“Stand Up” and “Number One Spot”), E-40 (“One Night Stand”) and Lil’ Kim (“Shut Up/Lighter’s Up”). Katt Williams is currently on a 124-city nationwide comedy tour. He will also release his new hip-hop/comedy album, It’s Pimpin’, Pimpin’ on Diplomat Records/Warner Bros.
